# IRWFA — International Rehabilitation Workforce Alliance > IRWFA (the International Rehabilitation Workforce Alliance) is an independent, member-governed alliance that unites the colleges, employers and students of the rehabilitation field under one banner: it sets a common workforce standard, opens the largest clinical estate in the field for supervised practicum, and builds a shared research commons. It is India-founded and internationally open. Its Anchor Institution and Secretariat is Bharath Healthcare Laboratories Pvt. Ltd. (BHCL), operator of Pinnacle Blooms Network®. The Alliance is organised as three Councils — Academic, Clinical and Research (the engine) — and three membership Classes — Industry, Institutions and Students (the constituency). It complements the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) and does not supplant it, and aligns with the UN CRPD and the UN Sustainable Development Goals 3, 4, 8 and 10. It is governed as neutral infrastructure: a not-for-profit vehicle, an independent Patron-President, an independent-majority Board, and a conflict-of-interest firewall. ## Core - [IRWFA — official site](https://irwfa.org/): The single-page overview of the Alliance — the need, the idea, the architecture (three Councils, three Classes), the proof and evidence, governance, and how to join. - [The Idea](https://irwfa.org/#idea): What IRWFA is — an independent, member-governed alliance for the rehabilitation workforce. - [How it works](https://irwfa.org/#how): The flywheel — institutions supply students, who train to the standard with practicum at the largest clinical estate, after which industry hires and funds, and the field compounds. - [Proof & Evidence](https://irwfa.org/#proof): National-scale evidence — 70+ centres, 25M+ sessions, and AbilityScore® validation (r = 0.91, ICC = 0.88, 0.93 forecast accuracy). - [Governance & Independence](https://irwfa.org/#governance): Why IRWFA is neutral infrastructure — independent board, conflict-of-interest firewall, RCI alignment, children-and-data-first. - [Common Questions](https://irwfa.org/#faq): Plain-language answers about what IRWFA is, who it is for, how it is governed, its relationship to the RCI, the evidence, and how to join. ## Definitions & canonical answers - [What is IRWFA?](https://irwfa.org/what-is-irwfa): The canonical definition — an independent, member-governed alliance for the rehabilitation workforce; the 3+3 architecture; the proof; independence; how to join. - [Founder-Chairman](https://irwfa.org/founder): Dr. Koti Reddy Saripalli — the architect of the regulator-licensed developmental standard the Alliance holds in trust for the field (ORCID 0009-0007-7866-0737). - [The IRWFA Standard](https://irwfa.org/the-irwfa-standard): The shared competency standard — what it is, the WHO/ISO frameworks it rests on, the validated measure that proves it, and how it complements the RCI. - [Rehabilitation workforce](https://irwfa.org/rehabilitation-workforce): What the rehabilitation workforce is, the WHO 2.4-billion need, the RCI's 16 categories, and why a shared standard matters. - [What is rehabilitation?](https://irwfa.org/what-is-rehabilitation): The WHO/ICF definition of rehabilitation, who delivers it, the 2.4-billion need, and how IRWFA builds the workforce. - [Clinical practicum](https://irwfa.org/clinical-practicum): Supervised, real-world clinical training — the field's hardest bottleneck — and the largest clinical estate IRWFA opens for it. ## Membership & the Standard - [Membership](https://irwfa.org/membership): The three Classes (Industry, Institutions, Students), what membership gives, and how to join.
